Course Description Controlling the Chaos is a leadership course designed for the moments after the threat stops—when the real responsibility begins. This program prepares supervisors and command staff to transition from tactical operations to command and control, organize complex post-incident scenes, care for officers and victims, manage interagency coordination, and protect the agency legally and ethically. Built from real-world critical incidents and command failures, this course focuses on decision-making under pressure, people management, and the systems that determine whether an agency recovers—or collapses—after violence. What This Course Covers Command transition after critical incidents Establishing control, span of control, and staging Unified command with fire and EMS (RTF integration) Officer welfare, family notifications, and leadership presence Media and community realities after violence Writing defensible, honest after-action reviews Building a culture of accountability instead of blame Training Format Scenario-driven leadership labs Command post and ICS-based exercises Realistic decision-making injects Guided after-action discussions Practical tools leaders can apply immediately This is not a theory course. It is a practical leadership lab designed to expose the pressure, responsibility, and consequences that follow major incidents. Cancellation Policy
BOOKING POLICY All course bookings are confirmed upon receipt of payment or signed agency agreement, depending on course type. Courses may be offered as: Agency Hosted Training (contract-based) Open Enrollment Training (per-student registration) Open enrollment courses require a minimum enrollment threshold to run. If minimum enrollment is not met, registrants will be notified and offered a refund or transfer. Seats are limited and assigned on a first-paid, first-confirmed basis. CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULE POLICY Open Enrollment Courses (Individual Registration) 14+ days before course start: Full refund or credit toward a future OTM course. 7–13 days before course start: 50% refund or full credit toward a future course. Less than 7 days before course start: No refund. Credit may be issued at instructor discretion. No-shows: No refund or credit. Agency Hosted Courses (Contract-Based) 30+ days before course date: Full refund minus any non-refundable travel or material costs. 14–29 days before course date: 50% of contracted course fee. 0–13 days before course date: 100% of course fee due. One reschedule credit may be issued within 6 months, subject to availability. Cancellations due to weather, declared emergencies, or agency operational needs may be rescheduled without penalty at the discretion of Operators Tactical Mindset LLC. WAITLIST POLICY When a course reaches capacity, additional registrants may join the waitlist. Waitlisted participants are notified in order of registration if seats become available. Once notified, the participant has 24 hours to confirm and complete payment. If payment is not received within the confirmation window, the seat is offered to the next person on the waitlist. Being on a waitlist does not guarantee placement in the course. COURSE CHANGES & CANCELLATION BY OTM Operators Tactical Mindset LLC reserves the right to: Cancel or reschedule a course due to instructor availability, safety concerns, or insufficient enrollment. In the event of cancellation by OTM: Registrants will receive a full refund or transfer option. OTM is not responsible for travel or lodging expenses incurred by attendees SAFETY & REMOVAL POLICY All participants must follow instructor safety directives. Any student exhibiting unsafe behavior may be removed from training without refund. Participation in tactical or scenario-based training involves inherent risk, which attendees acknowledge upon registration.
